Bringing Families and Researchers Together
Starting August 2026, the Healthy Trajectories team is excited to offer an Australian cohort of the Family Engagement in Research (FER) Course for researchers, clinician-researchers and family engagement partners.
Since 2018, this popular CanChild FER Course, offered through McMaster University, has equipped researchers and family members from 18 countries with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to partner together in child and youth health and disability research.
The FER Course is a McMaster University certified 10-week online program that teaches the principles of FER and includes discussions about the practical side of research partnerships.
Instructors work to create a safe space for trying out ideas and methods, helping learners build skills and confidence in both the theory and practice of family engagement in research.
Applications open on Thursday, 11 June 2026. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear when applications open!
